All else being equal just how much difference in performance can I expect between a 1.33 and a 1.4GHz cpu?
Very little.
Thought as much but in the meantime another posting directed me to www.komplett.co.uk who are selling the 1.4 for much the same price as the 1.33 I was about to buy.
I'm planning on buying a 1.4, but as I'm on a tight budget, I'm gonna wait a few weeks. I reckon (because AMD has now launched the Athlon XP range) the "old" Thunderbird 1.4 will be £60 by Xmas!
I had similar thoughts but being a) eager ( or impatient! ) and b) concerned about future availability decided to take the plunge right now.
Seems to me there's never a good time to buy - the price I paid is £30 less than it was two weeks ago but £10 more than it was last week!?!
