I am trying to burn a DVD using Sony DVD Architect but at some point during the burn I always get an exception error as follows:
Sony DVD Architect
Version 2.0 (Build 94)
Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) READ:0x2CA0058 IP:0x2C64D17
In Module 'ac3plug.dll' at Address 0x2C10000 + 0x54D17
Thread: FileThread ID=0x124 Stack=0x3D0C000-0x3D20000

This is driving me mad and I have no idea how to fix it. Please, please, please help me if you know how.

Thanks,
feeble girl.

the ac3 audio is causing the problem.

did you specify ac3 audio when you asked it to create the dvd ?
how long is the video and what bitrate are you encoding it at ?
what format are the harddrives i.e. ntfs or fat32 ?

Thanx,
ntfs hd, external lacie and internal ide. Bit rate is 8mbs, didn't specify ac codec, will try re-installing it anyway (the codec). Movies were from QT Ref files from Avid eXpress DV- Does anyone know of problems with this??
Would I be better exporting native Mpeg2 from my editing App??

Thankyou again

ac3 is not something i use when creating dvd's , i always stick to normal audio , takes more space , but works for PAL dvd's.

at 8MB/s you are looking at approx 1 hour max on a dvd.

i tend to export a final mpeg2 from my editing programs timeline , in my case edius , and have no problems then encoding to dvd using ulead dvd workshop etc.

I can't call you Feeble Girl but....

I know it's an old post but there is always the chance your stil waiting for an answer. I would encode from Avid. Did you get Sorenson Squeeze with it. If so use 'Send to' function and encode, then go to your authoring application.

Good luck - if you haven't sorted it already.
