Hi, Just new, but great to find you all. Am trouble putting CD's on my film I have Pinnacle Studio Plus and can use their Smartsound without any trouble, but, oh dear, when I try to use a CD of my own i'm hoopeless. Any tips folks - by the way, am VERy new at this, am only on my second movie. So if any one has any tips would be pleased
Cheers,
onion head
Welcome Mr Onion Head! How are you attempting to use your CD tracks? Are you ripping them to your hard drive first?
Hi Arthur, Thanks for replying. No I was trying to rip them straight to story board - no good eh?
Onion Head
No, rip them to the hard drive and then convert from 44,000k to 48,000k (16 bit, stereo) for compliancy. As a basic tool, windows sound recorder can do the conversion to 48k.
Rick.
Can't say better than that! Maybe studio comes with an audio editor though?
Hello Mr Onion Head,
As Arthur has said, it may be worth checking whether Studio will rip direct from cd and create a file in your bin/imported file folder. If so, it may sort out compliancy on the fly or you may be given the option to choose sound attributes.
Good bye Mr Onion Head.
(with a name like that, I'm sure you'll get lots of notice/replies on these forums!)
Many thanks folks for your help. There is a tool with Studio for CD editing, but am hopeless with it. There's lots of good stuff with their own music, but simply wanted to try my own CD's as well, It's just working out the time and duration that I get muddled with. Shall try all your suggestions and let you know how I get on. As I said, I'm very new to this, butlove doing the movies. Thanks again.;) O.H
Hi, Onion Head back - well named, I am - I've just got this sorted. It was so easy in the end, but what helped was starting with Smartsound. Then it all came together, so now can C.D it to my hearts content. Just wanted to say thanks everybody for your help.:D
Try application by Albert L. Faber - CDex. Free download. Works well. 140 release easiest.
