I wonder if I can reliably buy from this ebay outfit:
http://www.digital-4-u.co.uk/index.html
as they r selling this apparently at an unbeatable uk price:
anyone bowt from them b4?
Looks good but I would be put off by the amount of errors in their text content. May only be a small point but in today's E-world?

Although we have never dealt with them, you don't get an eBay feedback score of over 500 (100%) without doing something right.

They don't actually seem to have a high turnover of stock looking back through previous customers.....You can only check actual sales for 3 months and they seem very few, you've no idea of what they sold before that.
Personally, while I'm an advocate of Ebay, I'd never buy a new, high value item via Ebay or an Ebay shop - You'll get just as good a price from someone like Preston's (if you push hard enough) and you'll be sure of the backup if anything goes wrong.
Just my 2p's worth....
Shouldn't there be a 2 year silver warranty with this camera ? or is that just with the Z1
500+ feedback is all good, just as long as it's their's!!! That persons account details might have been stolen..................if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Try Prestons. Si
2 year Silver Support with the A1 and Z1 Charles. (and PD170, PDX10 etc)
Never used them myself but as Richard says, with that kind of feedback I think they must be genuine. They also include a telephone number which also suggests to me that they are genuine. If in doubt the test I always do is ask if I can pick the item up and pay cash/banker's draft on collection (even if you have no intention of really doing so). No honest person has ever refused and of course all the scammers find some excuse! If it was me, I wouldn't have a problem but it still might be worth giving Prestons a try as they might match it.
All the addresses check out, the company is as it says on it's contact page and run by a guy called Hao Zhou in Dundee. Can't find anything negative anywhere.
But as I mentioned earlier, if it goes wrong, doesn't have all the accessories or a geniune warranty, you're usually stuffed - but with Prestons or similar, a good dealer with a known reputation in the video equipment supply business will often loan you a replacement. In this game it's often more about after sales and service - when you've got a wedding on the Saturday to do and you check your kit on Thursday to find it's got a fault!
12 month warranty is via the seller not with Sony.
They apply a £15 carriage /handling charge to all warranty repairs.
At least they're honest about the cost.
Rant alert >>>>>
Some years ago a seller mentioned elsewhere in this thread billed us significantly more than £15 for returning a faulty VX9000E (on top of the £17 it cost us to send it to them).
The fact they hadn't fixed it didn't seem to matter. Luckily for us Sony UK collected the unit, identified the fault, fixed it and returned the camera FOC.
<<<< Rant over.

After watching this post with great interest, I've noticed that the above company has sold their initial batch and now have new stock. They've received good feedback from everyone, and 'seem' to be genuine suppliers.
However, I have noticed that they've marked their stock up a 'little' bit , and still don't offer manufacturer guarantees. I suppose it's a question of how much your can save, and what the chances are of you needing to use the guarantee.
If they sold you the lens they must have proof it arrived with you.
If they don't , then they didn't sell you a lens , and therefore they need to repay you any money you paid them.
If you paid by credit card inform the credit card company.
"If you paid by credit card inform the credit card company."
That's assuming that the Netherlands have the same credit card legislation that we have.

inform doesn't mean anything other than tell the company you have an immediate contract with.
If they don't protect the consumer in Holland , i doubt many would use a credit card.
if they haven't supplied anything , then it is a fraudulent charge against his credit card , no bank/lender will allow that.
if they supplied the wrong product and now won't exchange it , again against law.
I've bought 2 canon 580ex flashes from them.Good stuff but come without UK warranty like they said warranty provided by them if needed.
Planing to buy an expensive piece of photogear from them but discovered one fact about them. This company got a :
GAZ1 - First notification of strike-off action in London Gazette (Section 652).
Who knows what does that mean??any bad sign???
It means that notice of insolvency has been given
in other words avoid it as its going bankrupt
Thanx a million VIDDV, I was going to buy from those lads Canon 1d Mark II worth nearly 2000£, thanx for warning
