Apple support in chaos

Apples Tech support is in chaos, so it would seem.
All the evidence points to the fact that their support dept is heading for meltdown.

The evidence:-
Their support website is woefully slow.
The official Apple Support Discussion boards are down and have been since Wed/Thu of this week. Despite a message on the front page saying that access has been restored - as I write they are still unaccessible.
Phone calls to Apple Support don't get answered for the best part of an hour - and when they do it's by an over-flow call centre in europe where the enlish spoken is poor.
Letters to Apple Support go completely unanswered.
Apple are sending out the wrong parts to the wrong people.
Delivery and returns system for service parts is not working - for example the wrong returns labels are being sent out etc etc.

Also, Apple have delayed the European launch of iPod mini - they say due to supply problems with the mini drive. Sounds to me like they know they won't be able to support it.

My advice - do not buy Apple hardware. It may well be good stuff, much better than the competition - but what use is that if you get no support when things go wrong?

PDX10P, PowerMac G5 Dual 2.5, PowerBook 12.

Hi
No problem accessing the Apple Discussion pages from where I am (although there was a server change a few weeks or so ago that did cause several days of interuption - but then that even happened to this board!)
