ATI already appears to dominate the market for integrated chippery for digital TV sets, and this latest announcement indicates it's only intent on getting more market share.

I'm trying to find out when (rather than whether) an equivalent package for Europe will be available or if, as I suspect, the same one will be used over here.

Let's just hope that bthe cpu isn't running Windows :)

I've come across some pretty high-flying kit in the broadcast area that runs Windows behind the scenes. For example, Alfacam's HD trucks run their routing under windows 95 (or did the last time I looked).

Get my test cards document, and cards for 625, 525, 720 and 1080. Thanks to Gavin Gration for hosting them.
Camera settings documents are held by Daniel Browning and at the EBU
My book, 'Circles of Confusion' is available here.
Also EBU Tech.3335 tells how to test cameras, and R.118 tells how to use the results.
