hi

going on holiday on Saturday. Will there be any chance of picking up the August issue from newsagent at the airport to take with me?

It must have been a long time since you went to the airport!! The selection at Manchester is poor to say the least, lucky if you can get anything worth reading, let alone a copy of CV.

Seriously, when should it hit the newsstands? (I really must subscrive!)

I have a theory that there is a plot afoot, or to hand, that CV intends to get it's editions out in the actual month stated on the cover. i.e. July's subscription arrived on the 6th July. As it is now the 30th July and no subscription mag has arrived for August I wonder if it will arrive on the last day of July or in the month of August?
Cheerfully, but Hopefully,

Good and Bad news.
Now awaiting Thursdays post to see if my magazine arrives. On phoning up to find out why it was on sale in the bookshops last week, and yet they couldn't get my copy to me yet I was told..............
" There has been a reorganization, and different people are now sending out the mag. As with PC Pro and similar magazines, the intention is that in future, subscribers will get their mag a day or two before its available to the general public"
I cant wait to find out if this is true, as my copy invariably arrives 3/4 days after its put on general sale. Perhaps at last someone appreciates the subscriber.

HAHA - you believed the hype too. On sale July 25th my backside and so much for subscribers get it before the shops.

And another thing, ask the finishers, whoever they are, not to stint on the glue when perfect binding, recent copies have fallen apart when I try to read the bloody thing. Why not saddle-stitch like the 50% ( on average ) thicker ( and 22% cheaper ) Camcorder User?

Well,

It's August 2nd and I've just bought it from WHSmiths in Warrington. I've already read most of it and all I can say the 'danger, single topic' thread is 'up yours'. Fantastic stuff, luv it. I may not have been in the process of getting one, but it was good information that keeps me on top, like it.

Nice one Bob,

And for all those who may have not recieved theirs yet.... Chill Winston! and I'll grab at the oldest phrase in the handbook (prbably dated BC) 'Better late than never'

Michael,

Whoever told you that the August issue was on sale in bookstalls last week was talking out of their bum - we only got our copies a couple of days back.

However, there has indeed been a reorganisation on the subs side - but one that can't overcome problems like our not finishing the mag until about 10 days after it was supposed to have been finished.

Just to say that my subscription copy arrived today (in Canterbury) - better timing than last month! No chance to look at it yet - good weekend ahead!

Appreciated that it must take time to train up a new second in command - lateness is therefore excusable.

I've only been buying CV for about 2 years and there have been issues and articles that were less than interesting on first read - but like most subscribers, I archive each copy and in times of need, I have a reference point to someone who has experienced my problem of the day.

12 months ago, articles on DV500 v. RT2000 weren't relevant, now they are - I hope in 12 months time that I have a DVD Recorder and I am looking for info on shiny little disks.

Keep up the good work, Bob

Hmmm... so the August issue is out. Haven't spotted one yet. Darn. The local Smitties didn't have it on Saturday (or they moved it... as usual).

But, shock horror : the web site still shows the JULY issue. Tut tut. Sloppy sloppy. Especially after past threads berating that now defunct competitor for bad editorial... ;)

Still love CV though...

Smiths in Leeds finally got them in on Tuesday afternoon. They had about 30 copies wedged together!

Just wanted to say I enjoyed last month's mag (July issue, rec'd. Aug.10), a few weeks wait for good content is fine by me.
