I've just come across this idea for storing raw Sata hard drives & wondered if it might be of interest:

Thanks, Paul. Those look like a great idea, shame about the price!

Considering the design (like plastic VHS library cases?) those should only cost pennies to make - but the volume manufacture is clearly not there to achieve an attractive price.

Indeed price was my only reservation, one to keep an eye on I think.

Thanks for the heads-up Paul.
Macheaven are selling a ten-pack at £ 44. Sadly out of stock... I'll call 'em tomorrow and see when they're expecting more.

Macheaven tell me they're hoping for delivery in mid-February.

So use a video case instead. At about 20p a good cheap alternative. Must be plenty of these cases lying about doing nothing. Just put the HD in a thin antistatic bag.

PC Specialist 3Gz Dual Core, Premiere CS3, Encore CS3, After Effects CS3, Matrox RT.X2, Panasonic HD HS-300, Z1E & PMW-EX3 Cams.

Now with a PC Specialist Quad Core i7-3770, 16GB RAM, 180GB SSD, GeForce GTX560 Ti Graphics Card, Blu-Ray & DVD R/W Burners and can't wait to set it up. Now up and running.  What a difference in Blu-Ray footage.

Seems such a good and obvious idea. © H&M Video 2010.

There must be a market here for someone to make cheap foam inserts to fit round HDs in VHS library cases..... © mooblie 2010. :)
