Just a simple question for canon users.
Canon xh a1 batteries are they the same as the xm1/xm2 ?

No.

The XHA1 uses BP-950 / BP-970 and the XM1/2 use BP-915 / BP-945. I recently did a shoot with the A1 and had a spare battery from my XM2, but found it to just be irritating ballast!

PS
Since posting, I've been told that they ARE interchangeable, so I must be an idiot 'cos I couldn't get them to fit ...

Thanks for that reply.
I am in the market for buying said machine and looking for a retail outlet. Any recommendations of who to call. Prices seems to hovering all around the same mark. So I guess it comes down to who can offer best after sales support and the like.

The XM1 and XH-A1 batteries are interchangeable, but with one caveat. The XH-A1 has an internal battery compartment. Some of the largest size "compatible" batteries are a mm or so too tall for the compartment and although they will go in, they won't easily come out!! Test carefully at home before going out on a shoot!
