Sorry if this has been asked before, but can you use a Seinnhiser SKP 100 G2 plug-on transmitter with a Beyer Dynamic M58 mic.

Yes, we do it quite regularly, with exactly the same setup. The Beyer is a dynamic mic, so does not need any phantom power, and the SKP uses the handle as part of its antenna. We have found this system to work really well.

You wont go wrong with the Sennheiser Eng kit. Robust and wonderful sound. I use the plug on transmitter with the K6/ME66. It is a very versatile bit of kit.

2 x AA per transmitter / pocket receiver or a special Sennheiser accupack.

Is there another way of attaching this SENNHEISER EW-100ENG kit to the video camera, there might be a light attached to the hot shoe.

Depends on the camera Tony I have a Z7 so it has two cold shoes, one for the radio mic and one for the front light.

For other cameras there are adaptor brackets available that will allow radio mics to be mounted at 90 degrees to the side of the camera via the tripod socket.

Thanks Gary, I have a Sony DSR390, any ideas where to buy, not sure just what I might need.

Could I ask someone for a wee bit of advice/help in setting up the SENNHEISER EW-100ENG.

We use IDX V-lock batteries, and they can be piggybacked. IDX also make an an adapter bracket for radio mics that slots into the battery instead of a second battery. Velcro is then attached to the receiver.

The manual is a very good source of info for setting up the mic, but, there are also videos posted on u-tube I think you will find a link here somewhere too.

Thanks Chris, I just bought a portabrace jacket for my camera, just thinking, would there be a pocket in it to fit the receiver into.

I'll check out utube.

Hi Tony

The PortaBrace jacket that you recently bought from me included a separate double pocket suitable for radio receivers - it was included with the item when I posted it to you. It attaches to the rear of the main jacket adjacent to the camera battery with large velcro tape. And I'm pretty sure it has space for two receivers the size of the Sennheiser ones - one in each pocket. Thus you can use two radio mics and plug them in to channels 1 and 2 on the camera should you wish to.

Hope that helps, NL

Is there a quick start guide to get started, I watch the youtube clip BTW.
or is it fool prof.
Are there somethings to watch out for, to avoid doing.

Also, how would i know if its the UK E version?

You MUST immediately set the system to "Bank 8" - these are the 4 licence-free frequencies that can be used all over Europe. These frequencies are:- 863.1, 863.5, 864.3 & 864.9 MHz - if these frequencies are not in bank 8, then it's either not a version E or it's a fake.
