Just cloned a 40GB HD to a 80GB one using HDClone. The 80GB HD is an exact copy of the smaller one which means 40GB is now lost. Any way I can retrieve it?

If you go to start - run and type compmgmt.msc then select disc management it should show any unallocated space on the drive. Right click on the unallocated space, there should be some options available, either to create another partition or extend the original drive.
Your data should be ok but I would backup (or check that your 40g drive is ok) before proceeding with this task.

Phil, thanks for your quick reply. I knew about that Windows facility but didn't realise that it could solve my problem. I have now fixed the HD and it has 2 partitions. BTW a shortcut to the Disk Management is Right click on the My Computer icon and then select Manage from the drop down menu.

Thanks again, you have not made two gradn children happy.
