As subject,i've just done my First international order, being a small business the facility for credit cards is out of my reach.

In the end the answer was easy, wire transfer,if the other party is agreeable simple and straight forward.

A point raised in classifieds,is vat payable on second hand goods, the answer is yes if you are vat registered no if your not, what are the for's and against registering for vat if your a new \ small business.

If not suitable for an article, prehaps a forum on the new board.

Hi,

If you are growing a business and purchasing loads of equipment and other things it is a big advantage to be VAT registered. If you are primarily selling services especially to the public with little asset accumulation all you are doing is increasing your cost to Joe Bloggs. If you're market is business orientated they will in general not give a hoot about the VAT.

Remember, if your turnover is greater that £51k / annum then you are legally required to be VAT registered......arse!

Once you reach the compulsary VAT registration threshold, I believe you can make a back dated VAT rebate claim for the VAT paid over the previous 3 years.
