Re: Copy protection
there is a dvd duplicator called Fort Knox (or something like that) which is, for most of us here, the best sounding solution.
i have no experience with it, but it sounds as if you make one master as you normally would, then as it makes the copies, the unit adds encription.

Re: Copy protection
According to the blurb about the 'Fort Knox' duplicator here: http://www.gadgetnutz.com/2009/10/29/fort-knox-protects-your-dvds/
it uses the same protection as 'Hollywood'.... which is not really much of a recommendation!
Even if many adults might be deterred from copying DVDs by the protection, most families seem to have a 12 year old who is 'good with computers' -- and he (or she!) will certainly know that 'Hollywood' protection is very easily defeated by some of the so called 'one click' free DVD copy software.
Seems a bit expensive to pay out £400 - £500, for duplicator hardware whose protection can be defeated as easily as the 'Hollywood' protected DVDs?...

Anyone ever tried the "Scratch" method?

Re: Copy protection
From personal experience of losing £100s per job to the people who could copy our DVDs, I can vouch that we now see many, many more repeat orders than we ever did.
Yes, a real computer geek can get round the ecncypted files and re-copy, (nothing is inpregnable) but in the real world, as 99% of clients don't possess this 'skill' it's been well worth us using this 'Patronis' copy protection system.
Anyone who enjoys giving their hard earned money away to the copy pirates . . . are very poor businessmen.
