If a bare card, I hope it was a real bargain. You need the card and drivers, the breakout box with cable, and Premiere is good to have with it since the FF provided with the drivers is very limited as editing goes. Drivers dcan be downloaded from the Dazzle-Fast web site in Europe.
i'm battling with the installation of the card, i have downloaded what i think are the drivers from the site and they don't seem to work.
Any help please
Which version of the drivers? Windows?
Do you have a copy of Premiere?
There is a specific sequence in which to install the card, drivers, and Premiere (and I forget what it is, but it is in some of past posts goping back many months) or else the installation will not work. Also you should uninstall any failed installations first.
Alternatively, I've read that it will work with the generic Firewire drivers for the TI chip, but then it will not work with FastForward.
I have been unsuccessful in installing the card following everyone elses advice, it doesnt work.
In XP it picks up the card with a exclamation mark and the driver wont install from the website, i tried it on another machine same thing, i thought it might be a irq conflict but changed other irq's and still nothing, would some one help me with the driver for XP, i'm sure its not the card cause it picks up in 2000 but the only thing the driver doesnt install so it remains an unkown device.
Thanks
Greg
The book says:
1. First Install the card.
2. Boot, but when windows offers to install a driver, tell it NO (cancel) this happens 2 or three times for a TI OHCI 1394 card and for multimedia devices. (This might be slightly different for XP.)
3. Install Adobe Premiere.
4. Install the DV,now software and FastForward from the new driver set. The setup.exe file you downloaded, whihc should be in th same subdirectory as the doxen or so other files in the driver update set.
Does Windows detect the card?
