Inspired by David L Lewis's "favourite bit of recording", this has been my favourite first dance so far this year. :)

Nice one! oh how I wish more of the venues I have recorded in had a balcony or high vantage poinrt to video from.

Did you have any advance warning that this was going to happen?

Hello I'm in Mensa, Is there anything you would like me to explain to you?

No, we didn't know about it until about 10mins before David. The balcony was a Godsend. :)
I wondered afterwards where was big enough for them to practise it. Then remembered; Charles is a farmer - they probably practised in his barn. :D

I loved it! The balcony shots really helped it work.

But it locked up at 1:48 for me!!!

Fun dance! Always better than a boring shuffle.

This is so far the best first dance we've ever had.

It is easier to be critical than correct.

Now THAT SJJ really is the best first dance I've ever seen! Looked like 3 cams? How did you get the shots directly overhead? Were you able to plan for it beforehand?
Closest to that we've had was a couple doing a Tango. Again we were lucky to have the use of a balcony. It would have been nice to plan for it though. Trouble is; How do you ask a couple if their first dance is going to be 'special'? Hmmmm...maybe word it as 'unusual'. :D

Edit: Not sure why it's locking up. Maybe Vimeo are extra busy at the mo.

It's actually 5 different angles! Their first dance was so popular they had to do a repeat performance. the first time we filmed it with 3 cameras (2 on the same level, 1 balcony), the second time, 2 cameras (1 on level, 1 balcony but other side as the balcony went all around the room).
We always check in advance (at a pre wedding meeting) if they are going to do something more than the shuffle and ask if they've been taking lessons. Luckily these days we get a lot of couples who've been taking lessons, but so far none as impressive as that one, although we've had quite a few "lifts".

So was your camera op Batman? :D Some of those shots looked like they were from directly overhead. Excellent. :)

Nice Arthur,
I've only had one flashy dance and I didn't find out until they started dancing.
Really liked that
