With an iMac, we are looking to connect a FW800 Drobo (we already have it), and put 4 SATA HDDs into it in their "beyond RAID" configuration.
However, I notice that a lot of 2TB have Intellipower - apparently altering the disc spin speed. In the past, we have always used 7200 or faster discs, but, I wonder if these drives will work? I guess that sometimes the spin speed will be 5400.
Anybody got any experience of using them?
