I wanted to share this clip of what I thought is an unusual garden arrangement of a relatives . I had to film it as it was different. Plus I love nature.

What do you think, is the garden unusual?

You can avoid the latter part of the clip as its not relative to the beginning but I could not be bothered to shorten it:D

There's only one eF in Ferguson

I now seem to spend a lot of time arguing with inanimate objects

Looks a very nice garden and I suppose with llamas? it certainly is different. Beautifully filmed, which to a certain extent stops us keen gardners from seeing it properly.

A wide shot from the upstairs window, while not being very arty, would have let us see the overall shape etc.

While not being a gnome fan, they were tastefully placed in the undergrowth.

Very nice to watch.

it was a lovely vehicle with some amazing gadgets although we did get stuck in a mud hole and had to push it out.....we later found it had some device to get us out of that one but did not use it:) Forza Italia...!!!!:D :D :D

Hi Bob, of course I should have included a wide shot:) I do have such a shot but not in this particular scene. I do love nature and hope to film more of wildlife etc, just finding the time.....

Cheers,

I'd agree about the lack of a wide shot, although it doesn't have to be non-arty. But as it is, the geography of the garden was lost. Nice camerawork though!

(I suggest taking a look at a repeat of 'Small Town Gardens' on BBC2 whenever it is next on and looking at the reveal section at the end for inspiration).

Flame, I have to take my hat off to you. It would appear that you film anything & everything, and that's the only way to become accomplished at what you do. I enjoyed this, like the birthday video, and hope to see more of your work in the future.

Hopefully though, you will practise your handheld shots a bit more though, as I felt you missed out on a few cracking shots there. In fact, I know you will get better at this, as you couldn't fail to using a camera as often as you would appear to.

Hi James,

Thx for your comments and encouragement. One thing I am learning is that you never stop learning and I will always have my L plate on:)

My wife says I need to put the L plate back on my car when I'm driving. I wonder what she means by that:rolleyes:

Beautiful and relaxing. You have a great eye for this. I liked the second half as well!

I also noticed what you were doing with the music. Were you intentionally trying to put into practice some of the things we talked about? :D

Hi Mike,

This was filmed last year. I just extracted it from my DVD with no changes:o

Just putting together a wedding now which I have just filmed with all your suggestions in mind;)

Interesting! That shows that you already had an instinctive sense for what we were talking about. I noticed that the music's changes and emphasis were coinciding with the visuals many times. It may have been accidental but it worked to enhace the vid!

I expect to have what I call "happy accidents" in my work. Let me re-phrase that...I COUNT on happy accidents!! It happens all the time. I'll be laying some clips down and I'll throw a piece of music under them and voila!...the ups and downs of the music are mirroring the ups and downs of the images. Is it my subconcious that is making this happen? I don't know. I think rather that once you attune yourself to those kinds of subtleties you notice when it happens accidentally and then can tweak it to make it stronger.

The musical congruencies that you noticed in my brother's posing routine in the cramping clip...totally accidental!! I was blown away by it when it happened. I hate to reveal that to you because I'd love for you to think that I planned it, but I didn't. However, I did recognize that it was happening and made sure that I didn't do anything to ruin it.

Mike, thats my fault...I put filmed a couple of months ago on the opening thread...it should have stated last year:D

I can't believe that music track went so well by coincidence.....you surely picked up on it and tweaked it....thats the great thing about laying the music bed on the visuals...experiment and see what happens!

I think my greatest passion is to link the visuals with the music.....when I master that I will be happy. :)
