Hello:
I'm trying to get my new DV.NOW AV up and running since one week without any success.
This is my system: DELL Dimension 4100
Intel Pentium 3 with 800 Mhz, Chip set Intel 815E, 256 MB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce 256 AGP, SB Live! Value sound card, DVD, CD-Burner, Zip 100 MB internal, 60.5GB Maxtor Harddrive internal, 80 GB Maxtor Fire wire drive external (using 1394 Bus controller -- PCI OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller Microsoft driver).

In Device manager I can see FAST 1394 Interface on interrupt request 11. Under video controllers I find FAST DV.Now. It says: No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device.
Under computer properties I find:
IRQ 11: ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI Steering (3 times)
FAST DV.now
FAST 1394 Interface
PCI OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
(seems to be the one for my external Firewire
drive, right??)
NVIDIA GeForce 256 AGP (Dell)

System does not recognize card. When I start Fast.forward it says: Hardware not found or not working properly.

I followed exactly all the steps outlined in the manuals. After installing Adobe and DV.now AV the system recognized Fast 1394 Interface and Dv.now. It still searches for an additional PCI Multimedia device and can't find any drivers for it.
There is no IRQ conflict indicated in Device Manager.

Please help me here. I'm totally lost. In case you tell me to change IRQ settings. How do I have to do it? How do I know which IRQ is free? In the listing the only IRQ not shown is 5. How can I find out if 5 is available? How do I switch that?

As you can see, I really do need a jumpstart.
Your help is gladly appreciated.
Thank you.

Make sure you are using the latest software as the version that comes with the card refused to work on my system..you need to download from the Fast Dazzle beta site.

The dazzle card likes IRE 9, 10, and 11. per the manual.

Wonder if the other IEEE 1394 port is causing a conflict? Especially if on the same IRQ.

Try to disable IRQ steering in Device Manager go to >View Devices by Properties>PCI BUS>Properties>IRQ steering and disable it. Fast should now detect C-Cube and should have 3 entries on the same IRQ either 11 or 10 depending where you plug your card in the first place. That solved the problem for me.
Good luck

I also have a Dell Dimension 4100 (but I don't have a second Firewire card) and
I also have the same problem.
I installed the Beta version of Fast-forward DV.Now AV, but when I start FASR.forward
it says that the Hardware is not installed or not working properly ...

Any idea ?

I did not received any response from the DAZZLE support ...

For what it is worth I too have never been able to get mine to work but I have a KT7 Raid motherboard and athlon 1Gh chip but I a\have found that my Soundblaster Live does not seem to work well at all with DV Now AV card. I have to take my sound card out to even try and get it to work and even then I have yet not been able to capture any video. Dazzle tech support has been useless.

Good Luck

Unfortunately I did not receive any useful help from Dazzle. I checked each and every single slot, ripped out everything to get it going without any result.

I don't know what the problem is. Could you figure it out in the meantime?

From the posts that I read, DV.nowAV does not run on many Dell Dimension 4100 systems. Note that Dell systems are not generic IBM PC compatible - they have Dell-specific features that apparently do not get along with the DV.nowAV board hardware, at least in the standard configurations.

Did you see in configuration under
system

C-Cube ???

thats important.
I got the same and after a lot of stress, I bought a new mainboard.
I removed the Abit bord and placed a ASUS.

After installing. C-cube was found and the card works fine

Also, I suspect that the other IEEE-1394 port is going to be in the way, especially if it using the same IRQ as the DV.now AV card is trying to use.
