I have a Sony DCR PC3, good it is too, and I want to get into editing. I've been recomended to EZ DV from Canopus, Pyro Ulead, Pinnicle DV200 with Premier 5.1 or if I can go over my budget of £400 then DV Raptor. The 1st thing I have got to do is edit my son's wedding video. The other uses will be holidays, family and radio controlled gliders and other aircraft. Any ideas???

I hope your cam has DV-input?

If you don't need analogue inputs and can deal with the extra money than the Raptor is allways first choice, it works so good and solid. Hell I dream about raptors at night (and also about ISDN telephones but that's another issue I won't tell more about )

I've heard not too many good things about the DV200 to be honest.

EZ DV is also an option, on the canopus discussion forum there were reports on how to update your ez-dv card to work with premiere (using raptor drivers), you'll loose the soft and sweet overlay and it needs some experimenting I think, better check Canopus user forum for this one.

I don't wanna go into a premiere versus mediastudio pro discussion but if you havn't used both yet the offerings and features on bot packages are very equal, so the lower budget pyro card might do the job as well, but you won't be able to work with premiere (yet).

Bye,
