Installing DV 500

I read that to help with an editing problem in Premier I should reinstall Pinnacle DV 500 4.5
I've uninstalled it but it refuses to reinstall.
It reaches 6% of the reinstall and then stops and tells me that there is not enough disc space.
There is plenty of free space but to double check, I tried installing on my second (D) drive and got the same result.

Any thoughts or suggestions will be much appreciated.

  Cheers.

Hi Fergie

A complete shot in the dark

Pinnacle Systems DV500 will not support Windows XP SP2

==================================
Pinnacle Systems DV500 will not support Windows XP SP2
Please note: This version does not support/update a Premiere 5.1 installation.
Windows NT 4.0 is no longer supported with this build.

It is required to deinstall any ealier version of the DV500 software to avoid problems installing the new build.

Hi Fergie

I presume you are installing on XP?
Which SP is installed?
This is the bad news if you are on SP2, an up to date  XP would be on SP3 which the DV500 probably doesn't support either?

The only way around a lack of DV500 for XP SP2 is to install XP with SP1 only and then connecting that computer to the internet may be a bad idea because of seurity holes, however I may be barking up the wrong tree wink

It's running on XP SP2 so I'm trying and find an old version of XP.

Cheers.

Give me a call. Robert.  BTW don't use PM as this is not working, as is most of this site for me.

Re: Installing DV 500
Computer man replaced my XP SP2 with a basic XP.
Everything is working just fine except that the fault I was trying to cure, is still there. (I'm trying to get my 16x9 timeline to use an undistorted 4x3 image.) ( Aspect ratio does not work).
It's getting more and more tempting to bin the lot.

Cheers
