I've been using it for about 2 months now and I'm no kid!

I have just downloaded this software. I discovered a problem, in my install at least, and contacted tech support. They came back very quickly saying check the FAQ as they will only provide support once you have purchased the product !! I had stated in my original query that I had checked the FAQ and it doesn't answer my question. I know it only costs $30 to register but would you pay for software in order to receive an answer as to why it's not working properly ?

The only problem I have is that when I get an email from this forum saying 'so and so has just replied to your topic entitled (whatever)....This topic is located at:'

http://www.dvdoctor.net/cgi-bin/ubb/Forum29/HTML/000004.html

As you can see from the link above, for some reason the underline only goes as far as htm - the 'l' isn't underlined. So when I click on the link, I get the 'The page cannot be found' message .

The way around this is:

Once you've received that message, place your cursor to the right of the letters htm in the 'Address Bar' and click twice . The first click will highlight the url, the second click will just cause your cursor to flash. Now type the letter 'l' onto the end of htm and press the 'Go' button or press Enter on your keypad. the page you wanted should now appear as normal.

It's a little inconvenient but I can live with it. Especially as Incredimail can be so much fun.

Cheers,

Chirpy.

The actual problem I have raised with Incredimail is with hand written signatures. Basically I can't create one. The Help Text and FAQ say to go to Signature, Edit Signature whilst composing a message and a dialog box will be displayed. On my installation no dialog box is displayed but the cursor is moved down 2 lines on screen. I'm not about to pay $30 to get an answer to that one !!

Hmmm, that's how it is with mine too. Strange, it was okay before I downloaded the latest version. I noticed that when the new version took over, the signature I'd created a couple of months ago just wasn't there anymore.

Maybe it's a bug which will be overcome with the next version - they come out fairly regularly.

Cheers,

Chirpy.

Thanks Chirpy. I'll keep my eyes open for updates. Refusing to answer questions about a bug until you buy the full version still seems a funny way to do business

Keith,

I've just downloaded the latest version of Incredimail and everythings working fine now. My signature, which I'd lost, appeared straight away. I also followed the instructions for editing a signature - just to check - and the appropriate box appeared.

The latest version is 277. If you don't know how to find out which version you have here's what to do:

  1. Open Incredimail.
  2. Click 'Help'.
  3. At the bottom of the drop-down menu, click 'About Incredimail...' a new page will open.
  4. The bottom line of text should say: (Build ID: 1500277 Setup ID: 2)

Yours may have a different number, the version you have will be the last three digits of the seven figure number. So in the above example it's version 277.

Although you can download the upgrade which is about 2.7Mb. For some reason mine downloaded the full 4.7Mb. version which installed - without any problems - over the top of the old version. Then when I opened it, all my emails were still intact and my signature was on view.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Chirpy.

Thanks Chirpy.
I only downloaded the software a couple of days ago so I'm on the same version as you. I think I will just live with the signature problem until an update is released.

Cheers

P.S. Just a thought Keith. You could always try downloading the SAME version again and let it re-install itself over the top. That might work.
