Is this laptop ok for editing?

Hi all,
i am thinking of buying an Acer Aspire 1705 smi laptop (spec below) & wondered if it will be ok for editing video from my canon 630i camcorder.I have discs for video studio 6,Pinnacle studio 8se & 9 as well as Adobe premier pro.
Does anyone have any experience of this laptop?
Is it powerfull enough?
does anyone have any other suggestions?

when it comes to laptops for editing i swear by sony vaio's.

for a basic computing pc , we just bought a toshiba laptop of similar specifications ( 15" screen) at £999 + vat
exact specifications are at work , but the supplier was

if you tell them what you want to do and the money you have , they'll suggest best for money.

i would stick to intel , centrino is the expensive version , you don't need that, and i wouldn't buy a AMD portable.
as large a hard drive as you can afford, same with memory.
a dvd-writer is a good idea too , if it doesn't push the price too high.
