This is just a preliminary music filming/editing test, filmed 2 nights ago in the band's rehearsal studio... next on the agenda is the live version and the 'creative' version

Very different to my usual edits - this is crazy fast-paced stuff ;)

Love it! - A great 'jammy' sound and a well cut edit. Wot, no glidetrack! :D
I know from experience these are hard edits, but no obvious splitting the beats. I'm sure they'll be pleased.

Do not follow, I may not lead. Do not lead . . . I may not follow.

Nice work... I thought I spotted a GT shot at the start of the video?
Pleased? They should be! :)

STOP IT  - Doing freebies will get you a reputation... for doing freebies! :(

Not good for those of us who charge for these kind of services... or the rest of the industry. Tell the band to tell anyone else interested that they talk to that it cost well over a grand. You may get more to do and they won't expect another freebie.

stop, stop! sorry, my fault for not saying why it was a freebie. he's a friend of mine, and i asked him if i could do it (not the other way round). i wanted to see how i would find doing it...and fortunately for us both, it went well (filmed in an hour, edited by the following morning).

and yes, we've agreed we'll tell others it was a top-dollar job :)

thanks john....if only there was a BTS version of this - i was all over the place, and as you can see it was quite a cramped little room!! :)

Really nice edit (not too sure about the song.....) You must be chuffed with it for a first music video. R U going to edit in any outside footage or something to break up all the rehearsal/gig style shots, or leave it as is? It certainly works fine, just wondered if it would be even better with a few different scenes (certainly no shortage of great shots and angles here). Might be a chance to get the old faithful GT out.......;)

Hiya

Yeah, this is def. just the rehearsal studio version of the actual music vid (to come), where we'll film in different locations, and have alot more variation.... certainly as it stands it's not varied enough (hence the million and one angles to try and keep the pace up :)

cheers

Saturday just gone, I managed to film the live performance of the same song...I've revamped the music vid, to vary it more :)

Richard,

The pictures look great, nice pace to the edit too. What did you use to shoot the music video? and was it the same camera for you wedding footage on your website? (which also looks fantastic)

Chris

cheers very much Chris

I mainly used a 5dmk2 and a 7D.. and the only shots from the XHA1 are the fisheye ones

But yes, nearly all my weddings now are both SLR + Camcorder (because I shoot alot of weddings on my own). All DSLR for 2 man shoots though.

hope that helps :)
