Hi folks,
I filmed a 3-day seminar at the weekend and decided to feed the radio broadcast directly into the camera in order to pick up the ambient sound (singing and applause). Unfortunately I hadn't taken the AGC into account and have ended up with the volume turning up during the silent bits and - well you know what that sounds like? A friend I was staying with recorded the whole programme on his Liteon DVD recorder using a different feed (no singing or applause) and burned the audio in 3 hour segments onto a DVD so I could copy it to Let's Edit 2. Only trouble is it can't recognise the format (Movie file MPEG). As it is it plays just fine in Adobe Premiere 6.5 but using Let's Edit cuts out the render time when I output to tape and 18 hours of film takes a lot of rendering.
I tried opening it in Cool Edit 2000 and saving it as a Windows PCM (*.wav) file but all I hear is continuous white noise and anyway, LEt's Edit doesn't recognise that either. Another strange thing is that although each segment runs for 3 hours it only says 27 minutes in the timeline?
Any suggestions please?
Problem solved!
I opened it using Audacity instead and exported it as a WAV. Worked first time. :)
