Hello Everyone,

I specialize in creating DVDs for magicians around the world. Being completely self-taught I've learnt as I've gone along and forums such as this have been invaluable to me, they've helped me out of problem situations every time.

Anyway, I thought I'd post my latest teaser trailer for a new project that we're releasing soon. To give you an idea, this is aimed at magicians who will watch and then be taught the effects shown on the trailer. I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions...

Excellent stuff, I love close up magic.
Nicely shot, quite moody and left me wanting to see more tricks.
Well done.

That was great.

The titles at the end were much crisper - easier to read.... reminded me of the difference between editing package titles, and those done in After Effects post production.

If there is a chance to redo the text towards the start.. may be worth it?

Very nice indeed. However, I agree with Ian that the text at the beginning needs attention. The cursive font, matched with the flicker effect of the video and the length of some of the quotations made it difficult for me to read it all and I missed some of it completely. Apart from that, a fine piece of work.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the positive comments. I understand what you mean about the fonts and will correct them. It's the first time I've used the colour effects too and I was quite pleased with the results considering.

Just for interest, what tools are you using (camera, format, software, computer etc)?

Hi Dominic,

I'm using two Sony FX1's and I edit on Final Cut Studio 2. The colour correction was done using Apple Color and my computer is a Power PC G5 Dual 2.7. Oh, because nearly all of my projects are sold in the U.S, the cameras are NTSC, which still means that the finished DVDs will of course play here too.

I have similar equipment (same G5 & cam), but have not used Color yet. Very nice results!
