From what I was able to see it looks very promising - trouble is, for me anyway, the buffer was sooooo slow after the 25 second mark I couldn't watch more than three or four seconds at a time and gave up trying (I can view Vimeo clips without a problem). If that's the case, then you may be loosing a hell of a lot of customers.

Sorry Dana, I simply gave up. The sudden stops are death to any video and a tiny, soft WMV file is better than a pin-sharp stop/go/stop. The bits I saw looked good though.

Tom - I assume that you are like Rob above and normally have no problem watching clips? I have been using Exposure room for over 2 years now and at our end at least have no problems watching the clips so this is valuable info for us. Do you find Vimeo much better. If so we will switch ASAP! The encoding settings advised for HD video content on XR are identical to Vimeo last time I checked so I am a bit baffled as to the problem.

Yes, usually have no problems watching clips but the higher the def, the greater the risk I guess.

My 2p's worth - I tried to watch (6meg connection, 4 - 5meg actual at 6.00am this morning) gave up after 40 - 50 secs - wouldn't play smoothly. I use Vimeo Plus for my stuff.

Thanks all - we had no idea there were such problems with our site. Invaluable info for us. If anyone else has problems please let us know so we can get an idea of just how big a problem this is (me thinks pretty would be the answer:( We will try crossing over to Vimeo today and see if you can all watch it then - we still want some quality peer reviews of our work.

Played with no probs for me.

Cracking wedding film, great editing and lovely link ups for continuity.

Loads of faces and emotions and all the bits that a bride will want like rings, shoes , back of dress but done in a style that's not boring.

Well done, your editing style carried an old hand like me along with it, I forgot to watch for technical bits and watched the film, that's gotta be good :-)

It would be interesting to find out what OS Red and Charles are using as these issues effect us all. Just goes to show how invaluable this forum can be to everyone.

Look forward to seeing the clip on Vimeo if you get the chance Dana.

oh well, it's not that then - I'm on XP pro and IE8 too. Loads of memory, nothing else running, even got the virus checker diasabled and tried at different times of the day - stalls around the same point each time.

Right - we now have a Vimeo plus account and have changed the video embeded on our homepage ( danavideoproductions.co.uk ) , so for those of you who would be kind enough - especially those who had problems earlier - this could be a very interesting test for other forum users as well to learn from- How is it playing now?? Any better? Nothing has changed except the video host from XR to Vimeo. Also, as a kind of aside now, any comments re the video still much appreciated:D For the record, we use macs and browse using Safari, and have never had any problems watching video on either XR or Vimeo (most times of day we have a nice clean 6MB download speed).

Thanks Fox, Interesting stuff - do you think it is Vimeo being better than XR or just better internet connection latter in the day??

XR at 6am this morning failed to play it, Vimeo at 2pm today played fine using same kit. I'd say it's an XR bandwidth / buffer problem.

same here, plays without a hitch on Vimeo - didn't play on the other on several tries through the day.
Oh yes, the video :)
Some very nice shots in there and I do like the colour. From a personal point of view I wonder if these full song showreels are actualy too long for the internet and if it's better going by the 'less is more' rule. There was a couple of times where I felt it was almost starting to repeat what you had already seen - might be worth while chopping out a verse and keeping just the cream of the shots.
Nice song too, is that Maroon 5?

I tend to agree on less is more and prefer our 60 -90 sec coming soon clips, but this was requested by the couple. Song - it is a christian rock band my lovely wife found called NewsBoys I think. It is just so perfect:)

Thanks for the kind words Richard - you are one who has and keep inspiring us so much (along with a few others:D :D )

Just a final note on the whole Vimeo vs Exposure room problem. Since we moved over to Vimeo, several people have contacted us saying that the clips play much better, faster buffering, less hang ups. We will not be heading back to XR any time soon. I guess you get better service if you pay for it (Vimeo plus that is)
