Hi all hope things are all good.

I have set up a a site which puts a new look on how we all post and review our work and ideas. As we move forward in tech I hope you will agreed that the social side of forums needs to move with the times. So have a look at kickapps.com/youframe. I have not bought a domain for this yet as I wanna see how its goes. I have had lots of good feed back so far as you can post your videos, pictures and audio for free. And on top of this there is live chat, pm, im and so on. All I ask is have a look and let me know what you all think.

cheers guys.

I've been "invited" to several of these type sites recently. The problem is you don't (can't) get something for nothing. The sites use ad sponsorship to generate income and use 'affiliates' to boost user sign ups, the affiliate then gets a percentage of the ad click through revenue.....almost pyramid selling but not quite. How is this one different?

I see nothing wrong with the DVDoctor forums, the PM system and posting links to Vimeo for video, if you want instant chat - use Skype, many of us are already on it and use it between ourselves.

I'm with Dave on this one. There is also no unique offering here; everything here can be done in one way or another on a number of other social networking sites such as facebook, myspace and bebo. I have also seen a number of people put sites like this (or better than this) together for specific genres or niche professions/hobbies (including video/photography) and then simply have to give it up in a few months due to lack of interest which translates into advertisers not being interested either. Like Dave I too prefer selecting 'choice' solutions for the things I want to do on-line rather than one single packaged solution (so no eggs in one basket).

I often think of Dragons Den in a case like this, or when i think of something like this... would they snap your hand off, or simply say... "nothing unique, nothing patentable, you don't have a business here... I'm afraid I'm out!"

I agree with the above comments. It's going to be difficult to pull people away from comfortable solutions that work.

Vimeo and DVdoctor suit me fine. Unless there is a level of dissatisfaction or you are offering something really new (like when Vimeo's higher quality pulled me away from Youtube) I don't feel any incentive to go to your site. Sorry.

Thanks for your comments guys as feed back is always good, but the world wasnt made in a day. would you like to here that i have had lots of good feed back and the stats have shown just over 5500 hits in the last week. new media site are still becoming succesful as youtube, myspace have seen the best of their days and people get board and want something new not always different just new as the net is all about change. an example is mpora nothing different but just has taken the extreme sports world by storm, the hits on videos will blow you away just look at the advertisers on there now. I put a video of me skating and within 24hr I got 2700 hits. so all I have to say is get out of the box its a big world.

5500 hits thats great... but do you have accurate metrics? How many hits are unique and not from spiders or web-crawlers? Perhaps we were all wrong and people are flocking to your site, if so good luck. However, only eight members have joined (and I'm assuming they are mostly you and your friends and family)... thats not too good a conversion rate; I wonder why more did not join?

Oh, and most of the time I LIVE outside the box :D

Wow, 5500 hits!

Yet your video stats only show a total of 18 plays, you only have 8 members who all signed up 2 weeks ago and you only have one blog entry from 2 weeks ago......Wierd?

and I couldn't find the skating video?
