I am having problems with the above software when I come to add Background Music. The program appears to work up to adding the music to the time line and I can set the Audio level but whe I try to play the clip the program freezes and can only be stooped by pressing the computer reset button.

Pinnacle say it is my mother board Asus A7A266-E but the set up was bought for Video editing from Mesh based on PC World Test Review April 2002. The computer when purchased came with ULEAD Studio 5/6 upgrade and has given no problems to date.

I want to move to the Pinnacle Studio 8 for the improved Audio arrangement and the colour correction.
Any Advice Please.

where are you adding music from ?
i find it best to capture the music from say cd as a wav file and save it on same drive as captured video.
i stay away from mp3 as a format for video editing , even if your editing software can handle it , it will require processor time to playback , adding to the pressure on the cpu.

I Started using the Built in Background Music
But Have Also Tried adding from CD both have the same result.

extra question :what sound card is in your machine ?

answer to previous question :
one suggestion on pinnacles webboard is to upgrade the motherboard bios to version 1.6

it would appear that many pinnacle hardware products don't work with that chipset, and studio 8 won't say what motherboards work , you need to check what is compatable with the hardware you are using to capture with.
