I have just had to reinstall Premiere 6, Fast.forward and updates.
When I try to open Fast.forward I get following:
"Problem
Hardware not found or not working correctly."

I see it installed but cannot get it to work.
Any ideas?

Look for IRQ conflicts withthe board.

Did you uninstall the software before the reinstall and follow the specified order?

Thanks for fast response.
Yes I uninstalled everything before re-installing.
I checked IRQs and I guess I have a conflict all right. Neither program shows up at all.
Last time they were safely in IRQs no.12.
What now please?

More.
I just checked my Device Manager and found that under Other Devices there is a yellow ? mark.
This mean anything?

I think I resolved the IRQ problem in Device Manager.
Fast shows up but I still cannot get into Fast.forward.

My No. 12 IRQ looks like this -
12. ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
12. FAST C-Cube Driver
12. FAST DVNow
12. Tex. Inst. IEEE 1394 Host Controller
I still need help in getting into Fast.forward. I still get
Problem
Hardware not found or not working correctly.

It may be the last entry on Int. 12 - the Tex. Inst. one. Did windows select this for you? I would expect to see a FAST 1394 entry here.

I assume so. Is there a way for me to select what goes there?
Thanks

If I recall Fast was there before I re-installed. I don't know how it got there.
I installed original program a month ago and have no idea what I did then. Haven't got it to work yet.

I have this problem every so often, usually after I reboot after installing something new. There should be 3 FAST drivers installed, and the third one should be where the TI driver is. What I generally have to do is a "shutdown" (not a "restart") and then power up again. Some folks have said they have to also reseat or move the Dazzle card, but I haven't had to do that yet. Occasionally, it takes two or three tries to get all the drivers loaded correctly - dunno why.
What OS are you running? If it's W2k, then the IRQ thing doesn't matter (and, I think, can't be changed anyway). With W2k, I have a dozen or so drivers sharing IRQ9.

Thanks for your fast response. I'll try the shut down route.
I did remove and replace the hardware for the program. I was advised by Videoguys where I bought DVnowAV that you had to do this everytime you re-installed software. Whew. I hope I can get this thing running.

I am running Win98SE

Running WIN98. When doing an install it takes about three rounds of rejecting the WIN98 attempt at installing drivers before you get to the point of installing the FF drivers. If you do not cancel each one - you can get the wrong driver installed. I suspect the third one may ot have been cancelled, perhaps a slight slip of the mouse (my mouse does that all the time - makes me so mad!)

I think you are right. I very carefully went through it again and was able to get my three Fast items in the proper device manager. I don't know what I did exactly but at this stage I am just as happy that it worked.
Many thanks for you support and help.
Tomorrow I will start editing.
