VAAST pulls those oh-so-useful FX1 HDV samples. Grrr!

I've just posted a news piece on the DVdoctor front page explaining that those very useful downloadable FX1 1080i sample clips that are referenced here in various threads have been pulled temporarily from VAAST's site.

Turns out that someone's ignored the usage conditions and VAAST had to pull them, presumably because one or more of the people who shot the footage got understandably peeved or because the traffic going to VAAST's site became untenable.

Either way, it shows how thoughtless actions can adversely affect others.

VAAST says the clips should become available again soon - so when they do, can we please follow the requested usage.

Oh, and I'd like to give my own thanks to David Arendt and Francoise Bour, and Gabe Hoeffken - the people who produced the original footage and allowed VAAST to make it available.

why does this attitude not shock me

''if it's on the net , it's free , unless i made it in which case i own copyright''

attitude of many people who are 'educated' and feel their work is more copyright than anyone elses.
