At last an accurate review of VideoWave. As many people have been saying for years the software is poor and the support for it even worse. Thanks Peter for letting the rest know !!

The only thing I'd add - apart from my own congratulations to Peter (and commiserations for being lumbered with the review), is that the last review of VideoWave (V3.5, August 2000 - jointly written by Paul Dutton and myself) also didn't pull any punches.

The program scored higher then because the competition did not show it up as badly as it does today - but all the problems were laid out in full, as I recall.

That said, Peter's review did very much tell it like it is - something I'd like to think is true of all the reviews we carry - and put the product into a proper context of what else is available (ditto).

As I type this, I'm sending another review to Bob - MGI's CineMatic.

Well, at least MGI is consistant in its quality control...

The comments about previous reviews of MGI VideoWave was not pointed particularly at CV. Reviews in general have continued to basically say that it is a good, if basic, product. The problems with sync and support have been ignored.
Thanks again for bringing them to the fore.

But words are my business, and a comment which says, "At last an accurate review of VideoWave" does imply that all reviews before were not accurate.

All I was doing, by commenting, was trying to ensure maximum accuracy!

Cough!

I'm not quite sure whether you are misinterpreting what I meant or if I am misinterpreting what you meant! My comments about previous reviews were purely with regard to VW's previous incarnations. I took issue before at a rating of 85% for VW4. Again this was not only CV but seemed to be all reviewers.
The general opinion, and one that I share, is that CV reviews provide a warts and all view of products. Long may that continue.
