I am looking for the Sony GV700 HDV deck for transfering tape material to my computer for editing as I no longer have an HDV camcorder, and still have a considerable amount of tape material to edit.
If anybody has one for sale in good condition I would be very interested to hear from them

Re: WANTED Sony GV 700 High Def Recording Deck
buy the cheapest HDV camcorder that you can find.
It will be far cheaper

Manythanks for everybody's assistance. I think I will go for another cheap HDV camcorder such as the Canon HV 20 or 30 model just to be able to download my HDV tapes

Re: WANTED Sony GV 700 High Def Recording Deck
there is no difference on capture between any deck.
But you might find that either an added feature allows you to use the camera for personal use, or adds to it's second hand value if you intend to sell it asap.
Be aware that some are bottom loaders and are a pain to use.

To be precise, some are bottom loaders and are a PITA to use.

Manythanks for info concerning bottom loaders Dave. I believe that the Canon HV20 would be OK as I would only use it to transfer a few hours HDV tape material to my computer as I no longer have my Canon XHA1 and am hoping to purchase a Canon XF300 soon which of course only uses CF cards.
