Hi,
Does anyone think this would be suitable for SD/HDV video editing if used across a 100Mb/s LAN?
It looks like a good deal, and has the flexibility of striping for 1Tb or mirroring for resilience. If not the network attachment, this drive also comes with a USB2 slot, which should be fine.
Cheers,
Christian
Looks like it might be the dogs dangly bits. My only reservation is data speed on a LAN, I'd be surprised if it's fast enough for live editing.
Thanks Alan. If all else fails I can back up all my other projects on my USB drives to this, leaving my regular drives clean for editing.
C
get a gigabit hub and you're sorted
But that product says it's 10/100 not Giga.
i doubt 100mbits is fast enough for realtime editing.

That's not how I read it....

Oops, it says 10/100/100 at the top, but Giga in the text. So it should be fine for video on a Giga net.
