Thanks for your help on previous topic, now sorted.

Now keeping, as suggested, K6/ME66. However, the attenuator on my PD150 is 20db which is IMHO too steep.

Does anyone know where I can pick up an attenuator of 10db which I think will be a lot better.

I have tried Keene but they don't appear to do them.

Back to the other point just for a second; Really impressed with the service I received from Rycote the other day when I contacted them.

Canford Audio do 10dB attenuators in XLR format.

This is the 200-Ohm one.

John,

Thanks for that. Sorry, bit confused! I'm not that technical. Someone else suggested I get one rating 10db, but don't understand what the 200-Ohm means that you state above.

Is this one the best choice for the PD150 then?

Sorry to be so thick.

Cheers.

John, while we're close to this subject (sorry for the partial thread hi-jack, Mr Softy!):

Can you describe the "red dot" mod to the K6/ME66 - does it achieve an immunity to clipping from overload not available "externally" by using these pads, or by switching the PD150/170 to "MIC ATT"? (where it may be "too late": signal already clipped?)

Can it be done in the same way as the MKE300 to MKE300D mod? (By Sennheiser service?) Is it switchable? Price? When would you recommend it (if ever)? TIA!

Martin - DVdoctor in moderation. Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

For a mic. you will probably need the 200-Ohm attecuator rather than the 600-Ohm. Canford Audio Technical DEpt. will advise.

The K6 can be modified to have a lower output - Sony users seem to prefer -10dB (the CL version is, I think, more like -16dB). The mod. can be done by Sennheiser UK but is not switchable.

Does this answer you OK?
