Hi Folks,
Once a year I do a video of a local dancing school event and then edit it and make 50 DVDs for them with a disc print and DVD case insert using photos supplied by them in jpeg format to a specific embedded colour profile.
This year my printer, an Epson PX730WD, gave up the ghost and I got a message saying its ink pads are full and it needs a service.
I'm also having my study redecorated, the electrics rewired and new desk etc. so I'm off the air for a couple of weeks until I get all this sorted and get a new printer.
1. So I've burnt 50 DVDs which are Ink-jet printable and I now need them all printing.
2. I've printed 28 DVD case inserts (27.3x18.33 cms) so I still need another 22 printing.
A key point is that the printing system must be fully colour profiled so that the disc print and particularly the DVD case inserts accurately match the colours provided in the embedded profile sent to me by my client.
I use a "Color Munki" profiler to ensure that my PC monitor is accurate and also to match my printer to it.
Can anyone help with this please?
Best Regards.
P.S. I can provide the correctly sized jpegs with a cmyk or rgb profile. The embedded profile is "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2"
You can download a reset utility HERE, will give your printer extended life.
Hi Pete,
Thanks for the link to the reset utility but I already tried it.
The Epson PX730 is not in its list.
Google search throws up several suggestions - but perhaps you have already looked at them. Just a thought.

Have you tried THIS one?
Hi Pete,
Thanks for the continued interest, yes, tried that one as well.
It seems a bit cleverer but gives a communications error "2100012C".
I'm on Win7 and I was first told to try it in compat mode on WinXP but no joy.
Also tried uninstalling the printer which was on WiFi and re-installing as USB but still no joy.
Waiting for a third "re-setter" from a guy who repairs printers but haven't got it yet.
I have also found out how to empty the waste ink pads but haven't even had a look yet as it's no good without the chip re-setter.
Regards.
My PX730WD had the same problem as yours.
An Epson Service Center replaced the pads for a mere £20.
