Hi,
I am hoping somebody will kindly be able to help me out! My question is a two-parter, the first part being, how can I easily create .mp3 or .wav sound files from the sound taken from camcorder footage (I am using a Sony PC8).
Following on from this, I would like to include such sound files into my productions (using Studio 8) but I would like to add various effects e.g. making voices sound 'robotic', and making sounds sound(!) as though they're coming from an old radio. Is there any free software which allows you to tamper with sound files in such a way?!
Many thanks in advance.
Yours,
Mike 'The Novice' Roberts
second part : look on google for 'protools' a free version is available for sound editing.

I think ProTools free only works with older OS like ME and 98.
Check out CoolEdit 2000 - It's not free, but extremely good value for money at $69. You can download it from http://www.syntrillium.com.
Syntrillium have recently been bought out by Adobe (the latest in a long line of audio-processing buy-outs by video-editing software companies), so I would expect lots of it's functionality to end up being integrated with Premiere sometime in the future.
Similarly priced is Sound Forge Studio, downloadable from http://www.sonicfoundry.com. And Sonic Foundry have just been bought by Sony!
