Hello again Peter,

I'm no expert on PS but I do use it for some jobs (I use Paint Shop Pro for most things, I'm used to it, been with it for 8 years now). But this is probably as good a place as any for advice from users.

What's your problem? What are you trying to do?

Get my test cards document, and cards for 625, 525, 720 and 1080. Thanks to Gavin Gration for hosting them.
Camera settings documents are held by Daniel Browning and at the EBU
My book, 'Circles of Confusion' is available here.
Also EBU Tech.3335 tells how to test cameras, and R.118 tells how to use the results.

Ah! There you are again Alan,
Well my query doesn't apply to me really, but I have a colleague with a new computer and has just bought a £2500.00 Digital SLR and it comes with Photoshp LE. He may be prepared to eventually go to the full Photoshop programme.

(I also have this but use Coral Photopaint which is enough for me to cope with)

However I said I would try to find out for him the answers to the question I posed.

Thanks for the reply.

This link :- www.adobe.com/products/tips/photoshople.html will take you to a page from which you can download a full tutorial for PS5LE. Your friend may find it useful. It does skip over some areas a bit quickly but I found it a helpful start point.
Another site well worth investigating is http://www.photoscientia.co.uk/ which although biased towards a particular make and model of film scanner has masses of general info about how to improve the results and to manipulate the colours etc. It is sometimes necessary to follow links down to other pages but well worth the effort.
