Dose anybody know how to create the effect of an analogue TV when the Ariel is not inserted? You know the sort of thing I mean the fuzzy picture.

I want to create the effect for use from one cut to the next, I have seen it used many times and looks cool especially on a behind the scenes footage that I am currently working on where most shots will look amateurish.

Cheers

I get this problem too...

You could try recording on a VCR with no aerial inserted, and capturing the result?

it's annoying that most analogue kit now has electronics to revert to a blank screen (normally either blue or black) when there's no signal. I tried to capture the output from my tv's turner a few years ago but my sony camcorder decided that i couldn't possibly want the rubbish that was on the screen... Cheeky sods! i'll decide what i do and don't want to record! :D

as such, a plugin or pointing the lens at the TV screen are probably the only options... :( it's the sort of thing that there's likely to be free plugins for though...

mark.

Funnily enough, there is a freebie stock footage of a TV screen with no input- on where else but the December CVE DVD!
