And with fingers crossed, it's time for the presets Tom.

Tom my friend, (nothing like a good old grovel to begin)

So I’m now going to sort out the presets on my PD150.

I must admit that I am a bit nervy about doing this as I have the horrible feeling that I may make an irreversible mistake and completely cock it up.

I have looked at the book and see that I have four choices.

COLOUR LVL ??????

SHARPNESS

WB SHIFT

AGC LIMIT

I understand that you go to the menu and select the custom preset option and then select one of the above four options and then proceed to turn the little black wheel.

BUT! Which of the above four do I need to adjust and what is the best way to set it all up please.

Most of all if I make a mistake is there a button that returns everything to factory condition?

Sorry if this is asking a lot of you.

Thanks.

as far as I'm aware, the little reset button inside the screen does so. CHECK THE BOOK as I cannot be certain!

Use a biro point or something.

The bottom option on the custom preset screen. RESET.
The presets are a matter of personal choice, I would certainly set the gain to 6db.

Colin's right.
There's not the slightest need to feel nervous about setting all sorts of
different Custom Presets Dr Zak. If you slide the sliders all over the place
there's a final menu toggle that turns all your CP settings on and off, so
whatever you've set can be quickly compared to the camera defaults.

Connect your camera up to a good TV and point it outside at a pretty scene.
Then as you alter the CPs you'll see on the TV exactly what the effect is.
Easy, huh?

I go with one click less AE but a smidge more 'sharpening'. I limit the gain to +6dB and I'm happy.
