I have read a lot on this forum recently about buying G4's from J.Lewis. This all sounds great, but if I want to buy a G4 with FCP2 isn't it better to buy it all configured and set up to work correctly from a specialist or does this only apply to P.C.s with a mish-mash of internal componants ? Also can you buy from J.Lewis with FCP2 pre-installed, if not is it easy to do yourself ?
Hi
The reason you don't need to buy a G4 from a specialist is because it is ready to edit out of the box, with iMovie that is. but a simple instalation of FCP 2 is all it takes.

I would definitley recomend buying a G4 form john lewis, I bought mine form there and at the time it was a bargain. I got it for £1600 with 17" studio display (450mhz 128ram). I got it for cheaper than the newer G4 (400mhz 64ram) just because they were stocking new models. Plus the years warranty or 90 days or whatever is good, taht place is stooped in tradition, theyll take ANYTHING back he he, they also price match which is cool.
