Audio Connection Problems...

I just purchased a DV.Now.AV card and it appears to work fine. However, because all of my audio is routed in and out of my stereo system, I have run into problems connecting everything.

I have one set of audio in/out on the DV.Now.AV breakout box, and I have another set of audio in/out on my Windows sound card.

The only solution I can think of at the moment is to get an audio mixer to combine the two outputs and inputs. But, that is an added hassle and expense.

Ideally, I would like to capture analog audio through my normal Windows sound card, and then output the analog audio back out through the sound card. This is the way my old Pinnacle DC10+ worked, and it worked well.

Alternatively, I would like to be able to use the DV.Now.AV as the sound input and output for my entire system, and totally remove the sound card from my system.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Not sure whether or not the DV.now AV can be used as a stand alone sound card. It maybe limited to capturing sound with video.

What I have done is I set my sound card output to one audio amplifier input, the DV.now AV audio output to another input. I switch the amplifier input selector to the device I want to listen to. And I set DV.now AV to NOT use the computer's sound card.

I do not have that option. Between the TV, VCR, DVD, Cassette, CD, Tuner, and Computer, I have no more inputs left on my stereo system.

Simply conect DV.now AV output to your soundcard's line-in and line-out to the amplifier. Then you must check the audio lewel on input and output of soundcard i system audio mixer. Sound from soudcard shoud be the same as on DV,now AV.

The loop thorugh the sound card just might add some latiency which may appear as the loss of lip sync. Has anyone checked this out?

Just a quick update on this topic...

I ended up using a simple audio mixer I built a few years ago to combine the DV.Now.AV and Soundcard outputs to send to my stereo system.

I simply used "Y" adapters to connect the stereo output to the soundcard and DV.Now.AV inputs.

Everything is working great now...
