Batch re-sizing in Elements 2 is for some strange reason in pixels. Any way to change this to inches? PS 7 just seems to have a list of actions - which doesn't include re-size. But there must be a way surely?
Hi Arthur,
record your cropping actions in PS then apply to the image folder.
Thanks for that Branny. Seems a bit of a rigmarole though doesn't it? So you would need to add a new action for every different size?
Go for Irfanview - very useful batch re-sizing options. [Oh - "inches" is surely of far less relevance than "pixels" as a measure of size - depends on the number of pixels per inch you're working on the basis of...]
Dave, I use Irfanview, but when setting 6X4 inches, it resized to 6X4 PIXELS.
Oh well - sounds like a bug. There are regular version updates, so make sure you're using the latest. Though as I say, re-sizing to "6x4 inches" makes little sense unless it's accompanied by some notional dpi figure. I'd anyway work on the basis of say 200dpi or 300dpi hence re-sizing to say 1800 x 1200 pixels... Don't forget that unless your pictures are that aspect ratio anyway, you'll either squash them in one direction or another, or not get the exact dimensions.
Hi Arthur,
Are all images going to be resized to different sizes? if not, and all images are to be resized to the same 720x576 10"x8" then recording the first action can be played onto the whole file folders images in seconds.
