The BBC are trialing? a new on-demand service which allows one to watch programs missed for the last 30 days. Unfortunately it's for windows only which leaves all the Mac and Linux users out in the cold.

If you want to be warmer you could sign this downing street petition which may have the BBC rethink this.

Don't the BBC use (the dreaded) RealMedia format?

The preview, clips and trailers all seem to play on Mac - although I assume they are "Real" (I use the term loosely.)

Can you provide a link to the BBC where it states that "watch-again" will be Windows only?

Hi
C4's iPlayer has definitely been Windows-only. Presumably this is the same system?

Presumably this is justified by the DRM protection that pervades the Windows OS, so on that account it seems to be a dubious move for the BBC to be making.

yes it's all to do with the Win DRM.

Thanks, Chris. Bl**dy cheek, calling it "iPlayer" when it's not Mac compatible! Doesn't say much for the competence of the BBC's marketing/branding people.

It's ironic that as Apple begin the process of removing DRM from their music the BBC have decided that a windows only option is a sensible way to go.

I blame Mission Impossible.
