Help I have a large amount of footage of a wedding of a family member which was filmed
by well meaning family members who are photographers , but the footage using my Sony Z5e
has all shots outside with blotched faces, I am not sure what settings were used on the camera
probably auto everything, I have only have use of Sony Vegas Movie Studio whish I
use but have no idea how to go about improving the footage, all shots are H.D, A
Panasonic sd 900 was also used without any problems ,The Sony camera is
used by myself filming railways etc for a well known DVD company and all footage is
of good quality. Can any one help please.
Can you put a short clip online showing an example of what you mean?
Hard to advise without seeing the problem.
Pete, Thanks for your reply ,not sure how to put a shot on line ,
or where to upload too .
Looks like the focus point has been set to the background although even that is blurred in places, that may be down to smears on the lens.
Not really much you can do to recover it, maybe try using the sharpen filter to bring it back a bit, try a few settings but, i suspect you'll have limited results.
Peter, Thanks for your reply I have tried sharpen a little but will
I persevere, I am half resigned to the fact that I will have to put
up with and " make do ".
regards Mick.
Hiya, that's not a focus issue.
It looks like a camera problem with the skin detail setting.
You should get on the camera now and check how it's set.
Sure the first shot has some foreground softness in places, but at the very end of the first shot the foreground is sharp and the faces are blobby.
A quickly Googled EBU document suggests: 'Skin tone detail may be useful on occasions, but can be tricky to set and deliver unexpected results as lighting levels change. Use with care.'
There's very little you can do with that now. The issue is affecting more that just the faces too.
Duncan.
Thank You Duncan,The Skin details is reset to sharp but is used only on a PP setting,
unless the operater switched this on I will never no, as you say to late now, thank again for your reply.
