I am thinking of buying a canon Legria HF G25 wide angle camcorder. I already have a Panasonic X920 full HD. My question is albeit a silly one is, if I use both cameras on the same job will the captured video be different sizes with one being wide angle and the other full HD or will Edius sort it out when I start editing.(told you it was a silly question)
Both cameras are Full HD and record 1920 x 1080 pixels.
As far as I can tell by the specs. "wide angle" refers to the focal length of the lens, which is a bit of a puzzle to me as the spec for the X920 shows that the 35mm equivalent is wider than the Canon.
thanks WIsz can any one shed any light on the compatability of the two camcorders. I don`t want to be shelling out any money if I am going to have any issues.
My comment would be to first check that they use the same codex or format for filming. I assume the Panasonic could be using AVCHD and the Canon some other. I don't know either camera but past experience would be that it is easier to have cameras with the same filming codex. At the least, mixing different codex or is it format, on the same timeline can slow processing down. Could be similar differences in the audio area as well.

You can download the G25 manual and have a look. I also have two of these, that seem to last for ever.

It obviously records in AVCHD, but I can`t find which codec it uses.
