Bought my Mini DV tapes from Stanleys for the past few years, always had fantastic service. Went online tonight to order some new stock to discover they've gone into liquidation :(      robo

Memory might be going due to age but wasn't this on the forum some time ago and that they were trading under a different name?  It probably is my memory frown

I can't remember when I started buying gear and tape from them.

A shame, but perhaps a sign of the times. A company who dealt with tapes and such media who didn't appear to move with the times and adapt.

My apologies for not moving with the times, I'm one of those weirdos who doesn't change his gear every twenty seconds just because 'the man' says I have to!

and sold every format from domestic to broadcast and repaired pro equipment and did standards, dubbing and transfer work.
 
 just because they sold tapes it hardly qualifies them as dinosours.
I imagine it was the normal situation of box shifters being cheaper than a company who had engineers and actual product knowledge
