Camera Operators needed

Hi, my name is Steve I am a producer at Lucid Scene Productions, based in Nottingham.

We require a freelance Camera operator with own kit pref' (hdv Sony z1, jvc, canon etc), without kit considered (aged 18+)

Must have at least 12 months experience with live multi camera productions, ideally you'll have experience within the sport / live event genre but other disciplines considered, experience of filming darts is not specifically needed

you must have your own personal public liability insurance as a minimum - proof of cover will be needed

pay rate is dependent on experience and whether w or w/o kit + travel expenses, the pay rate will be offered to you upon successful application so please don't ask

working day will be approx 9 hours in total with breaks.

The event is a live darts exhibition in Leicestershire 1st November 2007; so you must be based within East Midlands, 5 multi camera shoot, 3 operated, 2 locked, mixed live to large projector screen; this production will be produced to a DVD for commercial sale

this exhibition match event is between Professional Darts players

Please no greenhorns; you need to be quick, smooth and accurate with framing, zoom control and focusing, be able to follow direction be part of the team and work on own initiative

Is this how your clients do business with you? seems a strange way of doing business, you cannot be bothered to tell those who take time to reply if they are unsuccessful, you cannot give any prices until they are successful, which may be inadequate and so everyones time is wasted.

So what is the daily rate, if you supply equipment?

Perhaps superman is the ideal candidate. In the real world I would think that they need a good all rounder at £250 per 10 hour day and camera hire with tripod at £135 per day - all plus vat.
