Hi everyone
I have a Sony DSC 505v which is an amazing overall camera, especially with the carl zeiss lens on it.
Anyway my only bug is that I can't set it to take pictures every x minutes... as a computer scientist I know how easy it would be to implement it in the firmwire. For some reason though manufacturers aren't bothering with the feature... so my question is:
Does anybody know of a camera that does... or does anybody have any idea on how to create a "hack" for it... cheers
Regards Ben
Ben,
I've had three digicameras and I've always wondered why this feature is missing. I'd love to control my Fuji2400Z directly via the USB.
I've managed to do some timelapse by connecting my DV-camcorder to the PC and running SClive in timelapse mode. Impressive footage of a thunderstorm coming and going over my house.
I did a quick search on DPREVIEW and found the following cameras which support TL (in some way or other) :
Canon Powershot S30, Canon PowerShot S40, Ricoh Caplio RR1, Ricoh RDC-i500, Minolta DiMAGE 5, Epson PhotoPC 3100Z, Canon PowerShot G2, Minolta DiMAGE 7, Ricoh RDC-i700, Olympus E-20, Olympus E-10, Canon EOS-D60, FujiFilm FinePix S1 & S2 Pro, Canon EOS-1D, Kodak DCS760, Kodak DCS720x

Hi Adam
Cheers that is great info... shame the gadget won't work with my 505v ohwell will just have to sit there and do it manually
although saying that those cameras are quite old now so it should be possible to pick up a bargain somewhere
Thanks again, Ben

The other option, which I'm sure that you've considered, is to 'bastardise' an old camera with some bespoke electronics to trigger the taking of photos.
I have an old but perfectly functioning Sony F1 which I was going to do this to at some stage.
