Capturing HD footage into Premiere 5.5 using Sony HVR M15E deck

Just obtained a Sony HVR M15E deck and been experimenting capturing into Premiere Pro 5.5.
Opening the 'capture' function displays the capture window and I can control the deck using the buttons withinn the window. I can also record footage into the project. What doesn't happen is that the footage is not displayed when being played from the deck or when being captured. Nothing shows in the capture window in Premiere even though the footage is actually recorded and saved in Premiere.
Had no issues previously capturing DVcam footage with a DSR 45 deck.
Early days and there may be a setting I've not set yet but does anyone have any thoughts about what is wrong?
Cheers

I don't know the capture process on premiere as I use fcp
but I used to use prem way back when

i would assume that you need to check your capture settings?

it might be that the capture window either doesn't see HD

if on the timeline is the video visible?

Yes, when the captured video is played on the timeline it can be played and seen in the player window

By CS5.5 Premiere had stopped showing a preview of the video during capture for HDV.

A check of the Help file section "Capturing DV or HDV video" confirms this - it says that the word "Capturing" should appear in the capture window.
