Clipper crash + other problems in new installation

Hi. I just installed DVnow.AV in a Dell 1.3GH Pentium 4 Windows ME and have been having the most awful problems.

First, the hardware refuses to sit in a proper location in the device manager, residing instead under the sound-game controller category.

Second, while using FAST, The DVplayer module frequently crashes, yielding a message that "clipper has caused an error in DVRESAMPLER.DLL...Clipper will now close."
Ocassionally, the crash has been severe enough that the computer needed to be unplugged to reboot.

Tech support has had me do everything down to complete reinstallations of software and hardware but no difference. I even tried reinstalling windows entirely then doing complete reinstallation.

Third, since I reinstalled Windows, the composite video outputs that I was using as my external monitor are not giving any signal now, although they were previously doing so.

The unit was bought for my business and I have a very close deadline that I must complete my video for.

If anyone knows the cure I'd love to hear it.
I can be contacted at smartt@netrox.net.

I keep reading compatibility issues with Dell computers. Perhaps search the forums for Dell computers and maybe someone has a solution. Or change the title of your post with dell compatibitlity problem

What chipset is your motherboard?

It has to be the i850.. it is the only chipset out for the P4. It's also very likely that the board is an intel "D850GB", as Dell will only use intel branded boards.
